Pakiri on horse back

Eighteen kilometres of white-sand beach and dunes are the setting for horse-riding at Pakiri, a 90-minute drive north of Auckland.

Guided rides leave three times a day and cost $35 for an hour, $55 for two hours, or $155 for a day of beach and forest riding.

Choose accommodation ranging from an executive four-bedroom beach house to beach or riverside cabins, backpacker accommodation and a farmstay unit. Prices range from $20 a night to $300.
