Paihia's five-star backpacker

Paihia's Saltwater Lodge is the first backpacker hostel in New Zealand to be graded five stars by accommodation assessor Qualmark.

Just 30m from the beach, the purpose-built lodge has a mix of shared dormitories, double rooms with en suites and adjoining family units.
