Northern hoedown to get toes tapping

More than 60 country-and-western singers will get toes tapping in the Bay of Islands next month for the region's three-day Country Rock Festival.

Every day from May 10 to 12, there will be music in the streets of Paihia from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. The nearby town of Kawakawa will have street music on Saturday, May 11 and Russell - across the water from Paihia - will have country-style street music on the Sunday.
