North Shore fun run back to front

After 16 years of running from Milford to Devonport, the annual Shore to Shore Fun Run (and scooter ride) is turning around.

When the starter gun goes on Sunday, more than 2000 participants will stride out from Devonport for the first time.

Event manager Grant Radovanovich says the new direction is a safer one with fewer road crossings, especially for the children who take part in the event every year.

You can choose to make the 10km run or walk from Devonport at 8am, or a 5km stretch from Takapuna Grammar School, starting at 8.30am.

The finish line is Milford Reserve at the end of Craig Rd, where a mini festival will be held with live music. It's not a race, but there will be various spot prizes, including return air tickets to Christchurch with accommodation and a rental car. All registered participants receive a prize.
