North Shore art on show

The best of Auckland's North Shore coastline - from its settlements, beaches and wildlife to the marine life and maritime activities - painted, etched and shaped by more than 400 New Zealand artists goes on display tonight. The Mairangi Arts Centre is home to the annual North Shore City Art Awards.

Around 100 works of art make up the exhibition, on until December 1.

The official opening is from 5pm to 8pm this evening, with no admission charge. The gallery is then open from 9.30am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, and on Sundays from 1.30pm to 4pm.

Entry is free, and all artworks are available to buy.
