KEY POINTS:
The lounge is usually the centre of social interaction in the home and is often decorated with items that define cultural identity.
The Around the World in 30 Lounges exhibition at Canterbury Museum encourages cultural comparisons through a series of interconnected rooms, each of which is decorated by one of the 30 ethnic communities involved. They will be displayed six at a time, changing every two weeks. The exhibition runs until May 6.
