New heights of pampering net Adelaide B&B a tourism award

Thorn Park Country House in the Clare Valley region, 130km north of Adelaide, has been awarded a Silver Star for Service by the South Australian Tourism Commission.

The hosts of the restored 1850s traditional country homestead bed and breakfast, David Hay and Michael Speers, have brought a new meaning to the concept of pampering, says the commission.

Their "thoughtful" bathroom provisions include every emergency item a guest could imaginably need, all nestled in wicker baskets..

Breakfasts are taken in the country kitchen, while dinners are gourmet affairs in the formal dining room.

Thorn Park also offers gourmet cooking weekends and art classes. Two nights in this luxury B&B costs $A335 a person, twin-share.
