New bathing pools open at Polynesian Spa

Three new mineral bathing pools are open at Rotorua's Polynesian Spa. The pools, all with views over Sulphur Point in Lake Rotorua, are shallow, passive bathing pools for adults, with temperatures between 39C and 42C.

The development is called Priest Spa after a priest, Father Mahoney, who visited the spa in the late 1800s and bathed in the curative waters to relieve his arthritis.

Mood lighting for night time bathers, an outdoor cold-water shower cubicle and a gazebo relaxation area complete the area.
