New Auckland zoo attractions

There is always something new at the zoo, making it a natural choice for school holiday entertainment.

Auckland Zoo is celebrating the September 22 opening of its new enclosure for sea lions and little blue penguins, with school holiday fun that includes music, entertainers, guided tours and scavenger trails with giveaways and competitions.

New residents that have moved in or been born at the zoo over recent months include two golden lion tamarins (once listed as the most endangered primate in the world), three lion cubs born last month, and a newly hatched North Island brown kiwi, named Tohu Nui.
