Spend a night or two in Nelson's Serenity Lodge and you'll probably go home having learned more about the city's artists and the region's wines.
Briton Suzanne Crewe runs the 102-year-old historic home as a "fine bed and breakfast", while promoting local art and culture, fine restaurants and vineyards.
A five-minute walk from the city centre, the lodge often doubles as a gallery for the work of local artists or the place to visit for locally produced food and wine tastings.
There are two suites to choose from, with features such as a four-poster bed, a private balcony, lounge and ensuites.
Tariffs are $180 a night for either room until October 30. Between November 1 and March 31, the rate is $220 a night.
