The best holiday I've ever had was... A toss up between Vietnam, going North to South, leaving with the idea I was going to go back to live working as a cyclo driver teaching English, and hitchhiking from Adelaide to Uluru (Ayers Rock) in Australia - both with my good friend Angela Meyer.
And the worst was... Feeling like I was being eaten alive by sandflies on a camping trip in Haast, South Island. The place is amazing, but I thought I was going to go mad with those sandflies!
With endless time and money I'm off to... Peru, to walk the Machu Picchu trail. I've always wanted to do this. I would then travel all around South America and return home via Asia, checking out Cambodia and Laos.
The best travel advice I have is... To have an open mind, be prepared to go with the flow and let the experience of another culture enrich you. And travel as light as possible; you never need as much as you think.
I never leave home without... A good book and a sense of humour.
