My holidays: Sabina Kelley

What was your greatest holiday?
Going to Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat in Australia. You stay in a glass house in the middle of the rainforest and there is nobody else around. You can shower outside, and they make you fancy meals.

And the worst?
Visiting Japan without someone who has been there before. It's difficult to get around and know what is what food-wise. I want to go back there again and do it right.

If we bump into you on holiday, what are you most likely to be doing?
I will be eating. I love trying new foods.

If we could teleport you to one place in New Zealand for a week-long holiday, where would it be?
Honestly, I'm not sure. I have only been out there once and was in Auckland and New Plymouth. This time I will have a few extra days to travel around. I'm gonna go see the glow worm caves and Hobbiton. Not sure what else yet.

How about for a dream holiday internationally?
I love exotic tropical vacations the most, where I can lay on the beach with coconut cocktails and just relax.

What's the dumbest thing you've ever done when travelling?
Landed after 5pm on a Friday in a beach town in Spain and was only there until Monday. I hadn't exchanged any money at the airport, got to the hotel and couldn't do it there, and all banks were closed until I left on Monday. So I had no money the whole weekend.

What's the best travel tip you've ever been given?
Never take more luggage than you can carry by yourself.

What was the most memorable meal you've had while travelling?
At a restaurant in Frankfort, Kentucky. They give you steak and vegetables and you cook it yourself on a hot stone.

What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
A whole new wardrobe from Australia.

Favourite airport to land at?
Not LAX, worst airport on Earth.

What's the next trip you've got planned?
New Zealand.
