Eating as many meals as possible in one day or buying weird novelty junk food specific to that country.
If we could teleport you to one place in New Zealand for a week-long holiday, where would it be?
Whangamata! You'd have to teleport my nan, too though so she could take me fishing.
How about for a dream holiday internationally?
Maybe somewhere in Italy so I can live out my dream of being Diane Lane's character from Under the Tuscan Sun. Or live out my nightmare of The Talented Mr Ripley.
Complete this sentence: I can't travel without...
...a sleeping bag sheet inner. It sounds really weird, but when you're in a foreign country sleeping in a weird hotel room or a hut in the middle of the bush, it's comforting to sleep in something you know is from home.
What's the best travel tip you've ever been given?
Never go anywhere without cable ties, a torch, some rope, and a multiplug. That's a tip from my mum, who thinks she's Bear Grylls.
What was the most memorable meal you've had while travelling?
Probably a pork noodle soup that I bought for like $2 at a little shop in the mountains of Chiang Mai in Thailand. I think the added risk of potential food poisoning made it so much more exciting.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
Probably two taxidermied stoats filled with exotic fruits and seeds, which were unfortunately confiscated by Customs.
Favourite airport to land at?
I haven't landed in many airports in my life, but Nelson Airport is pretty nice to land in since you get a nice view of the mini golf course from the sky.
