Shopping in those night markets next to our bach at Wynyard Quarter. Or perhaps I'll be lying on a Kiwi beach with a Fruju and the latest Marian Keyes. Love a good bit of chick lit.
What's the dumbest thing you've ever done when travelling?
I'm always very organised. The husband, though? Not so much. A couple of years back he forgot to take his sack. I had to text him to let him know he'd left without his "luggage".
What's the best travel tip you've ever been given?
Take snacks - it's never good to be seen grifting off the elves.
What was the most memorable meal you've had while travelling?
Not sure it really classifies as a meal, but once when we were on a Chrissie junket in Chile, some of the locals made me a drink called ponche a la romana. It's kind of like eggnog - but it's made with Champagne and pineapple-flavoured icecream. It is out-of-control good.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
I'm a little bit obsessed with fridge magnets. I know, I know, it's a little odd given that we don't actually need a fridge at home! We collect them wherever we go and stick them on the side of the sleigh. It's a bit like those travel stickers you put on your suitcase in the 70s.
Favourite airport at which to land?
Crikey, I've never actually landed in an airport! I can tell you the worst. We once got a little confused and tried to land on the London Eye. That was a hair-raising couple of minutes. It doesn't stop moving!
What's the next trip you've got planned?
After New Zealand? How do you top New Zealand? I'm thinking maybe a yoga retreat somewhere in Indonesia. Eat, pray, love, everybody!
Mrs Claus, Santa and the Elves will be residing at the ASB Santa's Bach, as part of the free festivities taking place at Wynyard Christmas Quarter until Christmas Eve.
