The best holiday I've ever had was... It's a tie between last summer when I spent three weeks backpacking around Sri Lanka (which is surely one of the travel world's best-kept secrets) and the month I spent in Central Otago doing nothing but swim, sunbathe and eat freshly picked fruit. Amazing.
And the worst was... We've all had an awful New Year's on the Coromandel, haven't we? Mine involved bad weather, sleeping in a car for two days and being forced to hang out with really awful friends of friends. Never again.
With endless time and money I'm off to... South America. I'm going to go anyway, but it would be nice to leave Lonely Planet's South America on a Shoestring at home.
The best travel advice I have is... Just say yes, to whatever food/opportunity/adventure comes your way. Also, eat where the locals eat.
I never leave home without... Travel insurance and a copy of Vanity Fair for the plane, train or bus.
