My holidays: Laura McGoldrick

What was your greatest holiday?

My parents took my brothers and I on a trip around the US, UK and Europe for 10 weeks while we were still at school. It was the most awesome, eye-opening experience.

And the worst?

I've been pretty lucky with my travel - I am yet to hate a holiday.

If we bump into you on holiday, what are you most likely to be doing?

Having fun and trying to immerse myself in the culture as much as possible. And a little shopping never hurt anyone.

What's your dream destination?

I would love to explore more of Europe, Italy in particular.

What's the dumbest thing you've ever done when travelling?

The family set out on a short getaway to Australia - until the lady checking us in at the airport very kindly let us know that all of our passports had expired, having written this down I am now going to check my current passport.

What will you always have in your hand luggage?

Baby wipes (thanks, mum)

A valid passport and baby wipes, of course.

What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?

In Paris with my mum, we went to the Louis Vuitton store on the Champs-Elysees and bought a handbag. I like to think of myself as a bit of a fashionista - so that was a dream.

Favourite airport to land at?

Heathrow - excellent shopping.

What's the next trip you've got planned?

I hope to go to the West Indies next year.
