If we bump into you on holiday, what are you most likely to be doing?
The next holiday I will be taking will be with my best buddies, so regardless of the time of day you bump into me it is almost guaranteed that we will be preparing for a wild night out. This involves beers, beats and the best warm-up of all: free-style rapping.
If we could teleport you to one place in New Zealand for a week-long holiday, where would it be?
I hate to flog a dead horse here, but ... Queenstown. It's a place that exists for play. Any time of year, any time of day or night there are interesting people to meet from all walks of life. And nothing beats a hangover like jumping off a bridge.
And for a dream holiday internationally?
Right now, South America. When I'm a millionaire, Vegas.
What's the dumbest thing you've ever done when travelling?
Believed a man who had extraordinarily long dreadlocks when he said: "Don't worry man, I got these brownies from the supermarket."
Complete this sentence: I can't travel without ...
I can't believe I'm admitting this, but probably my hair spray.
What's the best travel tip you've ever been given?
Make a plan - but also plan to make no plans. Maybe that's why I got lost.
What was the most memorable meal you've had while travelling?
All-you-can-eat gourmet buffet in Dubai. Aside from the endless premium cuts of meat you could indulge in, the dessert was just ridiculous. Every brand of chocolate you could imagine, countless icecream flavours. All displayed with designer lighting and an appetising soundtrack.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
Travel provides experiences and experiences are what form your perspectives, behaviour and beliefs. I'm pretty happy with where I am at right now, so perhaps I owe a bit of that to the travel I have been lucky enough to experience.
Favourite airport to land at?
Singapore. You feel like you're having a shower just walking through it. Clean as an unused bar of soap.
What's the next trip you've got planned?
Hopefully a trip to Thailand or Aussie with my best mates. Nothing beats an experience as much as an experience shared with the brothers you love the most.
Jono Kenyon plays Dave in Step Dave, which starts tonight on TV2, at 8.30pm.
