Moonstruck in California

The organisers call it the tour that can start or renew a romance and say those who make the journey might find it one of the most beautiful experiences ever. Desert Safaris' Moonlight Hiking Expeditions are only taken when there is a full moon in Palm Springs, California.

Hikers travel by caravan or group bus to the remote spots where the moonlight trekking takes them through canyons, arroyos and sandy washes. Knowledgeable guides share information about plants, wild animals and Indian lore.

The next full-moon hiking dates are July 5, August 3, September 1, October 31, November 30 and December 29.
