The historic Mangawhai Tavern hosts a day of entertainment based on the region's rich kauri history next month.
Activities run 10am-5pm on Saturday, September 30, and include a bullock team pulling logs, a wood-chopping exhibition, a display of memorabilia, performances of music of the era, kapa haka, and displays of kauri gum and crafts. You can also enjoy a "gumdigger's meal" and sample billy tea.
