But the Women's Room offers bed and breakfast accommodation just 10 minutes' drive from inner-city Auckland, and even boasts a bush reserve and walkway leading to a waterfall.

Surrounded by peaceful gardens, the Women's Room is located in a quiet neighbourhood in Mt Albert, and caters mainly to women travellers.

The bed and breakfast facilities are in a modern, free-standing studio with its own facilities, including stereo and satellite digital television.

Prices are $70 single or $80 for a double.
