Luxury at sea

The Hauraki Gulf is luring more New Zealanders - especially those who usually choose luxury holidays overseas.

Thirteen luxury yachts are on the New Zealand Luxury Charters menu, and director Liz Smith says there's an increase in New Zealanders planning five-star sea holidays.

Everything is covered on a charter, from personalised menus to all the toys for watersports. Vessels range from 17m to 32m long, and come complete with captain and a chef.

The cost for 24 hours ranges from $3500 to $9000.
