Lodge offers cliff-top luxury

Take a room at Kauri Cliffs Lodge, Matauri Bay, and you'll bask in breathtaking 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean while relaxing amidst 1940ha of native bush and rugged Northland farmland.

Almost a year old, the lodge is a majestic sight, as is the property's cliff-top golf course. The property even boasts a 1500-year-old kauri tree.

Sixty-five staff run the lodge and its golf course. The main lodge houses the dining room and lounge, card room, meeting room, fitness centre and computer room.

Guests are accommodated in cottages, rimmed by native bush and with views of the ocean and golf course.

Nightly rates, exclusive of GST, range from $850 to $1050 a person, and include pre-dinner drinks, dinners and breakfasts.
