Lessons for keen young anglers

A chance to learn the fine art of trout fishing is available for keen young anglers in Rotorua during open days this month and next.

The hatchery grounds of Fish and Game New Zealand will be open on October 13 and November 10, when children aged between 6 and 14 can land a rainbow trout and earn a certificate for their catch.

Between 100 and 300 children attend the open days, so expect a wait for the morning and afternoon sessions, between 9am and noon and 1pm to 3pm.
