Ramps and wide doorways for the wheelchair-bound are not synonymous with the classic coastal bach, but panoramic views, open-plan living and conveniently located electric switches are all part of a holiday home at Leigh, north of Auckland.
Set on a knoll on 2.8ha overlooking native bush, and across the water to Great Barrier Island, the house was re-modelled by owners Jenny and Dave Crocket with the disabled in mind.
A night's accommodation is $200 for two people and $25 for each extra person.
