Under $4000

This eight-day tour is a chance for last-minute romance and plenty of history and culture. You have until September 15 to book. Priced from $3999 a person twin-share, you can secure eight days exploring Provence, in France.

Under $1100

Garuda has launched holiday packages to Bali, priced from $1099 a person, with packages of up to 10 nights available. Leaving from Auckland, the "super special" is on offer until early December. "Combo fares" are also on offer from the airline, allowing travellers to fly to Sydney or Melbourne using Air New Zealand or Qantas, and connect with Garuda flights to Bali. You can choose to stop over in one of the Australian cities, or connect straight through to Bali. The "Combo fares" are $1399 a person.

Under $900

Itchyfeet Travel has four-night "Bangkok Paks" priced from $899 a person - and that includes return airfares with Thai International. Book and pay by August 15 for one of the daily, direct flights to Thailand until August 31. From September 1 to the end of October, the cost increases by $50, and for much of November, the cost is $999.
