Lake tours by waka

A Maori waka venture offering guided tours on a traditional-style Maori canoe is set to sail on Lake Rotorua.

Hoe Waka will take visitors around the lakefront and Ohinemutu on an 11m waka tangata (general purpose canoe), which can seat 14 passengers and two crew.

Local brothers Mike and Te Ra Kumia Solomon, who own and run Mana Adventures, say Hoe Waka will be a holistic, interactive, cultural learning experience.
