Kenepuru Sound Lodge: out of the ashes

Kenepuru Sound's Raetihi Lodge is rising from the ashes of a tragic fire in time to open for December guests.

The building, and owners Liz and Roger Jarvis' 20-year collection of antiques, went up in smoke in May.

The new lodge will be the third on the Marlborough Sounds site. The first, built 100 years ago, was also destroyed by fire.
