A big yellow jetboat from Queenstown's Kawarau Jet came sixth overall and fifth in the unlimited class in the recent River 2000 USA International Jetboat Marathon in the United States.
The 12-member Kawarau Jet team was led by Shaun Kelly and included 1998 New Zealand title-holder Jason Scott and 1995 world title-holder Neill Ross.
The boat has an 800hp engine capable of speeds up to 176km an hour.
Kawarau Jet celebrates 40 years of operation this year.
