Do you travel light or heavy?
Kind of both really. I end up taking the most ridiculous amount of underwear with me; Lord knows what I think might happen. But then I never really understand people who take toothpaste and soap and stuff like that. Unless you're heading to the deepest-darkest - what's the point? They'll have shops where you are going.
Cattle or first class?
I'm a first class guy with a cattle budget. Sobs!
I can't travel without...
An iPod, naturally. Until recently I owned three of them - until a friend pointed out that it was crazy, so I gave her my oldest one.
What type of suitcase do you carry?
A blue one. With wheels. Also I tie or affix something weird to it so that I can spot it easily on the carousel. Nothing too weird though, so the authorities don't pay too much attention... Like strapping a stuffed moose head to the suitcase is just plain silly. And asking for trouble. Trust me on that one. Seemed a good idea at the time...
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
I have to try and slip in record shopping when I travel. I mean real records. Not CDs or MP3s - but 12 inch slabs of vinyl.
Favourite or most exciting airport to land in?
Weirdly, probably Auckland. I do like to get home, and see my cat.
Best travel tip?
That thing about the decorating your suitcase. And plenty of underwear.
Most memorable trip?
Awww, heck would have to be my 21st - years ago instead of having a big party I went to Sydney to see my brother and sister. The pilot did a big shout out over the intercom announcing that it was my 21st and everyone on the plane applauded and sang me happy birthday. There was Champagne and chocolate cake! Normal people would at least lie and say it was "so embarrassing", but I lapped it up!
What do you do while on the plane?
Pluck up courage to flirt with the flight attendant, play with everything possible and listen to my iPod.
