By BARBARA HARRIS
Playing the Moldovans at Tennis is a good laugh and the perfect antidote to a grey, wet Sunday.
Comedian and writer Tony Hawks, whose first book Round Ireland with a Fridge was prompted by a £100 bet, finds an even more pointless gamble. His friend Arthur knows just how to goad him to do daft things.
Hawks reckons he's pretty good at tennis and one day Arthur works his old mate into a frenzy. Before you know it, Hawks has agreed to track down and beat the entire Moldovan football team at tennis. The loser gets to sing the Moldovan national anthem - naked in the main street of a London suburb.
By the way, if you ever go to Moldova beware the manholes, especially at night.
