If Greg Williams wanted to give up work on the concierge's desk at Adelaide's Radisson Playford Hotel he might consider the diplomatic corps.
On the day Australia caned the Black Caps 3-zip in cricket he was full of praise for the Kiwi effort, even suggesting the series could have gone either way.
His recommendations: Best Paid Attraction: Cleland Wildlife Park - a 20-minute drive towards the hills from central Adelaide, it showcases Australian native animals.
Best Family Attraction: Glenelg seaside area - a half-hour tram ride from the central city. Big hotels, big beach, a large fun fair for the kids and plenty of restaurants.
Best Free Attraction: Adelaide Botanic Garden - 25ha on the perimeter of the central city. A good place to do not much, but check out the Palm House, brought from Germany in 1877.
Best Eating: Red Ochre Grill, relatively new on the banks of nearby River Torrens. Best of modern Australian grub - plenty of native animals on the menu.
