There won't be a lot of change out of $8000, but just about every last expense is covered on a 16-day round-trip from Papeete in August.

This journey is aboard the supply ship Aranui: a fully-escorted trip, stopping off at Nuka Hiva, Tahuata and Hiva Oa to unload and load goods and supplies.

The 90 passengers aboard enjoy informal, family-style meals in the dining room, and the dress code is informal and casual.

The $7995 fare covers the flight from Auckland to Papeete on August 7 in time to make the August 9 sailing, and the return flight to Auckland on August 26. It also includes meals, gratuities and port charges.
