The next time you're enjoying a beautiful view out of an economy class window, spare a moment to think of the poor passengers flying in first class.
In what could be the ultimate in first world problems — or perhaps first class problems — Queen guitarist Brian May has slammed British Airways over its first class seating arrangements.
In a recent blog post, the musician complained about the distance between his seat and the window on his flight to Los Angeles in a BA Airbus 380.
May wrote of his love for snapping shots of "clouds, glaciers, mountains, cities, canyons, and volcanoes" from the window of a plane — many of which he proudly displays on his Instagram.
"In the old days you sat right next to the window and the view was wide and spectacular," he wrote. "Now they sit you about three feet from the window and so low down all you can see from your seat is a small patch of sky. It's boring — frustrating."
He went on to share a picture of an aerial view from a previous flight, alongside a snap of British Airway's smaller windows.
"I'm not aware of anyone except me complaining about the new way the seats are configured in BA First Class," he continued. "I hate it. It costs an arm and a leg to travel this way and I feel that we no longer get our money's worth."
A one way first class ticket to Los Angeles costs around £10,300 ($18,025).
However, his complaints have not been well received by the British press.
"Amid the seemingly endless bad news of terrorist attacks and disasters, one man apparently has more pressing concerns," Sebastian Shakespeare wrote for the Daily Mail, while the Guardian described him as "out-of -touch".
Last year, actress Andie MacDowell tweeted a complaint about being bumped from first class to economy on an American Airlines flight, due to her dog.
This attracted criticism from other Twitter users, which lead her to defend herself, writing "I'm very happy flying in coach I'm happy on a bus or the subway but if I play for first class, that's where I want to be, that was the point".
