KEY POINTS:
Do you travel light or heavy?
Heavy. I'm not the best at deciding what to take and what to leave behind, so it's just easier to take the lot. So it can look a bit silly taking a suitcase to Sydney for a couple of days, but at least I'm prepared.
Cattle or first class?
Orcon is a pretty mean and lean organisation, so it's cattle class all the way. I once had a supplier fly me business class, but they're a bit stingy these days.
I can't travel without...
My Macbook. I'm in the communications business, so staying online is a must - plus it's so damn sexy.
What type of suitcase do you carry?
Burton - it doesn't look like all the other ones.
What's always in your hand luggage?
A copy of Forbes Magazine - it's corporate porn.
Favourite or most exciting airport to land in?
Queenstown. The views of the Remarkables are breath taking (when they
don't divert you to Invercargill).
Best travel tip?
Don't even think about trying to be funny at LAX - they don't have a funny bone in their bodies.
Most memorable trip?
During a business trip to Europe with a supplier I had an almighty cold and really wasn't looking forward to the next leg of the trip. The supplier made things worse by trying to save a few cents on airfares and made me fly through three cities to get from Amsterdam to Munich.
What do you do while on the plane?
Read, mostly. I always have a mountain of reading to do as a part of my job, so it's usually a good time to catch up.
