KEY POINTS:
Do you travel light or heavy?
I take two or three guitars, a big black makeup case and as many clothes as I can fit in my suitcase.
Cattle or first class?
First class is a waste of money. (I can't afford it so am doomed to cattle.)
I can't travel without ...
My glasses and contact lenses. I am very blind. My iPod, of course. My guitars. My pounamu and my mum's cross she gave me which gives me good flying luck.
What suitcase do you carry?
Pierre Cardin. I just recently found out he's a flash guy designer so I feel real flash too.
What's in your hand luggage?
Glasses, lens solution, tampons, my MAC lip moisturiser, toothbrush and floss.
Are you a planner or last-minute packer?
A planner. Flying freaks me out; if I'm not organised I think the plane will crash as punishment.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
Umm ... fags and booze.
Favourite airport to land in?
I like landing in Christchurch because I know I'm going to see my mum or sister or one of my five brothers who is picking me up. They just keep driving round the airport and I have to throw all my bags in the car while it's still moving and then jump in.
Best travel tip?
Floss after every meal. It stops your breath being too smelly. Try not to look shifty at customs because they will pull you aside. Especially if you're a muso; they expect I'm all drugged up. I don't even like drugs and I think they discriminate against me.
Most memorable trip?
I'm not into flying. I get drunk on planes to relax so I don't have any memories.
