Hot deals: School holiday specials

Under $670

Instead of the usual school holiday price rises, Flight Centre is offering three and four-star apartments in Queensland, with return airfares to Brisbane, priced from $499 each, quad share, or $669 each, twin share.

This deal is a seven-day package for the Gold Coast with departure dates on June 26 and 27.

Under $540

Pay for four nights' accommodation at the Gold Coast's Couran Cove Resort and get a fifth night free. Four nights are priced from $535 a person.

Alternatively, pay from $665 for five nights and you'll get two more nights' accommodation free.

This accommodation-only deal is valid until September 17 and is based on a twin-share basis.

The holiday must be booked by June 30. Airfares are not included.

Under $740

Until June 24, Great Holiday Escape has four-night breaks starting at $739 each, twin share, including return airfares from Auckland to Vanuatu, return transfers in Vanuatu and four nights' accommodation. Airport taxes are not included.

Cruise on the Windstar from Tahiti for seven nights around the Tahitian Islands. With an outside stateroom, your return flights to Papeete to catch the cruise, a night's luxury accommodation in Papeete the night before and the night after the cruise, plus transfers, it costs $3299 each on twin-share basis.

This cruise sails around the best-known islands of Tahiti, including Bora Bora and Moorea. The package includes port charges and taxes, all onboard meals and tipping is not required.

South African Airlines is celebrating its 70th anniversary with return airfares from Auckland to Johannesburg, from $1999. For around $200, you can choose destinations ranging from Cape Town, Durban or Victoria Falls to Windhoek or Port Elizabeth - priced from $2199.
