In a week: Warming away my winter blues at the New Zealand Pop Up Sauna. Fresh from a month-long residence in Wellington, this converted shipping container has made its way up to Auckland and is sitting pretty on Wynyard Quarter's Karanga Plaza until August 26. Inspired by sleek and stylish Scandinavian saunas — all cedar with a huge window looking out across the harbour to the city skyline — the pop-up sauna is open from noon until 9pm at weekends, and 4pm to 9pm on weekdays.

In a month: Hopping over to Brisbane for the fifth annual Scandinavian Festival (September 11), where I'll tuck into as many Danish pastries and Norwegian waffles as I can get my hands on, before heading to Lokal + Co — a new Nordic-inspired eatery in the city's bustling West End neighbourhood.
In a year: Eating dinner at Copenhagen's two-Michelin-starred Noma, four-time winner of Restaurant magazine's Best Restaurant in the World and top of my foodie bucket list. Chef Rene Redzepi plans to close Noma after the last service this New Year's Eve, then will reopen in 2017 in a new location with a new menu. I'd like to be first in line.
