Art in the gardens
The Bayleys Garden and Artfest, November 10-16, highlights the work of talented Bay of Plenty gardeners and artists. The garden and art trail has over 100 stops from Katikati to Te Puke, and support events include a family fun day, a wearable flower show, exhibitions and more.

Kororipo at Kerikeri
The Kororipo Festival at Kerikeri's Stone Store Basin on October 26 features raft races, paddle boarding, chainsaw carving, music, dance, art, craft and food stalls. Entry to the Stone Store and Kemp House is free. It starts at 10am.

Scream festival
Don't let the name put you off heading to Te Awamutu's SCREAM festival, October 30 to November 16. The acronym stands for sport, culture, roses, entertainment, art and music and there'll be plenty of events from all genres on offer.

Party in the park
The Te Puna Quarry Park near Tauranga is a disused quarry that is now a beautiful park featuring walking trails, sculptures and panoramic views. At QuarryFest on November 2, festival-goers can buy crafts, learn tai chi, and entertain or be entertained in the amphitheatre.
