I didn't travel too much when I was growing up, so getting on a plane to go anywhere is exciting. Last year a big highlight was Tokyo. I lived out my Lost in Translation fantasy at the Park Hyatt Hotel. Sadly, no Bill Murray, but my boyfriend proposed so I'll take that as a win. And when I'm old I will return to Dubrovnik in Croatia to live out my days. It is a beautiful place, and is the set of King's Landing in Game of Thrones. Buildings hundreds of years old, draped in bougainvillea, and gardens ripe with tomatoes and artichokes. Even better - it is next to the turquoise-coloured Adriatic Sea.
Misses
The first time I visited Berlin it was winter - snowing, dark, -14C. We needed to warm up with chillies and tequila so we went to a little Mexican joint in Kreuzberg. It was a long night, but fun. Unfortunately my best friend and I spent our last two days in the city sick with food poisoning. I don't know if it was the Mexican or the late-night kebab on the way home. A friend sent us a newspaper clipping the next week saying something about "cats found in kitchen of Turkish restaurant".
