I spent a year in Canada around 2012-2013. I worked in the middle of the Rockies in a place called Jasper. The mountain was called Marmot Basin, I was a liftie. I have the best memories of getting up at 4am, riding the chairlift to the top of the mountain, having the sun rise right over the back of the Rockies where you look over the back of the mountain, then having the mountain to myself to ride down to my chairlift. The magic of being a snow bunny was pretty short-lived though, because three months in, the day before my birthday, I tore all the ligaments in my left knee and had to take up a day job on a golf course. But that's a story for another day.

Sam and I took our bromance to Asia about a year and a half ago. We went to Thailand and Vietnam. When we were in Hoi An, getting suits made, we had a bit of a night on the lash. Walking home to our hotel, we were surrounded by a scooter gang of little men who wanted to give us a lift home. Hoi An is normally a very vibrant, active town with all the shops open but at this time of the morning everything was closed and it was pitch black when we were walking down the main street. The scooter gang was made up of about eight scooters, they were threatening us and trying to hit us while they were circling, trying to intimidate us to get on their bikes and give them money. But we were heavily intoxicated and wanted to walk the three blocks home ourselves. It's probably one of the scariest moments we've had. The rest of the trip was absolutely lovely, only a few other sketchy moments that were self-inflicted.
