Peter Hillary will follow a route pioneered by his father when he leads a challenging World Expeditions trek to Makalu Sherpani Col, Nepal, in October.
The trek retraces in part the expedition led by Sir Edmund Hillary in 1960 with a team from National Geographic researching high altitude and searching for yetis.
It is one of 75 international adventures mounted by World Expeditions over the next 12 months.
One of the Australian company's founders, Tim Macartnery-Snape, a Mt Everest summiteer, will present a slide show on the Himalayan trekking and climbing on June 22 in Auckland.
Contact: World Expeditions, ph 0800 350 354, for reservations.
