New Zealanders are expected to be the first to "get high" when the arching span of the Auckland Harbour Bridge opens for walking tours next month. Groups of 12 people will be escorted to the bridge's peak every 20 minutes, from the Auckland City side of the harbour and back again.
Auckland Bridge Climb Ltd opens for business on December 1, making it only the second such bridge-walking adventure in the world (Sydney Harbour Bridge walking tours were the first).
Those with a head for heights can also choose to join a weekly Saturday night climb. Prices range from $125 to $145, depending on the day and time of the tour. There is an age restriction of 10 and over.
Contact: For bookings phone 0800 000 808.
