Happy Days at Whangamata Beach Hop

Jump and jive back to the 50s and 60s at the Whangamata Beach Hop, April 23-25.

The throaty purr of well-tuned engines will fill the air as dozens of hot-rods, classic cars, dragsters, Harleys and lo-rider push-bikes descend on the beach town.

Events include a "build a hot rod" challenge, a nostalgia market, drive-in movies and a longboard competition. Then there's the hop, with rock'n'roll bands belting out beats until the small hours.
