Great boat race at Waikato River

The Gallagher Great Race takes place on the Waikato River on Saturday September 10.

This year, the 5km race is between the Waikato University Senior Men's eight and a team from Washington University, United States.

It's a great family day out with live music, rowing races, street entertainment, food and drink, activities for kids, and a big screen so that you don't miss the action.

Entertainment starts at 10am, and entry is free. There's a stylish masquerade ball in the evening. Details are online.
