Glow in the dark

If Wellington is on your itinerary in the middle of next month, pack a torch and sturdy shoes and take some time off the beaten track.

At 6.30pm on Saturday, May 18, Otari Bush guide Barbara Mitcalfe is taking visitors on a two-hour night tour of the bush - not far from the inner-city - in search of glow-worms. The walk will be held the next night if the weather is wet.

The walk begins and ends at the Otari car park in Wilton Road. Bookings are essential and the tour costs $4. Your own torch is also essential - and expect to get your feet wet.
