Former Australian football league player and politician Brian Dixon has turned his hand to hosting bed and breakfasting tourists.

Dixon's Bed and Breakfast is set on 20ha in Glenburn in Melbourne's Yarra Valley, offering glorious views and the sights and sounds of abundant native bird life.

Guests are accommodated in a selection of four large bedrooms and have access to a fully-equipped kitchen, lounge and outdoor entertainment area.

Rates start at $A132 ($159) a night for a double room, or $200 if dinner is included.

The property also has a self-contained, two-bedroom cottage at $110 a night for couples and $200 for families of up to six people.
