Foodies' delight

If you are a true foodie but cannot make it across the Tasman for the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival this month, don't despair.

Television presenter Peta Mathias, who usually concentrates on New Zealand's finest food, is leading a tour to Melbourne from October 17 to 21.

The tour will visit vineyards, cheese makers, gardens and private kitchens, markets and cooking schools; delve into ingredients and the talents of notable chefs; include five-star accommodation; and take part in classes on oils, coffee, spices and cheeses.

The price is $2649 a person, twin-share, which includes all cooking demonstrations and lectures, transfers and some meals, plus return airfares and accommodation.
