Airport experience: I arrived early for my 8am flight, thanks to Karmel Shuttles transfer service. My driver was great, wanting to know all about New Zealand and why I was heading to Denver. He also educated me on why marijuana, which is legal in Colorado, was originally made illegal (because it was threatening the cotton trade, apparently). I arrived from my West Hollywood hotel in less than 30 minutes. I was flying out of LAX terminal 2, but bag drop was at terminal 3 — it was only a short internal walk between the two though. Once through security, it was the usual airport terminal experience of overpriced, low-quality food and a few duty-free stores. Including a Spanx store — good for if you've overindulged in LA, I guess?
On time: We pushed back one minute early, and there was a very short taxi time so we were in the air in less than 10 minutes.
Flight time: 1 hour 49 minutes.
How full: Completely, but the cabin felt spacious and modern. And unlike other US domestic flights I've done, there was no jostling for overhead cabin space. Everyone seemed to have somewhere to store their bags.
Fellow passengers: A lot of families with very young children, business people heading to Denver for IPW — the US Travel Association's annual international tourism convention, the reason for my trip.
Entertainment: Surprisingly a full movie and TV service for all passengers, with seat-back personal screens.
Service: Great. The crew seemed friendly and like they enjoyed their jobs.
Food and drink: Tea, coffee and a range of soft drinks were complimentary, along with a choice of three snacks — a small packet of almonds, a cookie, or a muesli bar.
Toilets: I didn't use them on such a short flight.
Would I fly again? Yes. This Delta flight changed my perceptions of domestic US air travel.
