Fly-cruise from San Fran to home

One of the biggest ships to come Down Under will make its maiden voyage to New Zealand on Valentine's Day.

New Zealanders can board the 76,000-tonne Aurora in San Francisco and cruise home to Auckland with a special fly-cruise package deal from P&O Cruises.

The package includes a flight from either Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch to San Francisco and a 15-night cruise in a twin cabin, with the Aurora calling at Hawaii and Samoa on the way. All meals and entertainment are included in the package, priced from $6190 a person.

The Aurora sails from San Francisco on January 30 and arrives at Princes Wharf on February 14. The huge ship is more than a quarter of a kilometre in length and 10m higher than the Niagara Falls.

There are three swimming pools, a virtual reality centre and golf simulator, five restaurants and cafes and 14 bars.
