Anna Harrison flies AS97 from Washington State to Alaska.
The plane: A Boeing 737-800. The best thing was the airline's logo — a smiling old Inupiaq man wearing a fur hood — emblazoned on the tail.
Class: Economy.
Price: Around US$140 ($200) one way, but you can get cheaper deals.
Flight time: 3 hours and 35 minutes.
Fellow passengers: This was a midweek, afternoon flight so it was a mixed crowd with mainly people travelling home, a few military troops heading to bases around the state, and tourists keen to check out Alaska's attractions.
On time: We left Seattle about half an hour late and only made up 10 minutes on the flight, so came in 24 minutes past schedule.
My seat: 17A, a window seat in the exit row. This was perfect as I spent most of the time staring out the window at the peaks popping up through the low cloud as we followed the coastline up past Canada to Alaska.
How full: Pretty full.
Entertainment: Alaska Air has an entertainment app you can download and watch movies on your own device, which is really quite brilliant. You can also purchase Wi-Fi time but after too many mind-numbing movies on my previous long-haul flight, I plugged my phone in to the seat in front to charge and read my book instead.
The service: Friendly and professional.
Food and drink: Tea and coffee and a biscuit, with extra food available to buy.
The toilets: The usual.
Luggage: One bag of 23kg.
Would I fly this again? Definitely, and next time I'll make good use of the entertainment.
